I think it will be a little cooler than that since that is the high, but you never know since Virginia weather is so unpredictable. I am hoping it will be around 45 degrees that morning.

Ahh....10 days out. That is as far out as weather.com makes a forcast and is the exact time time to start worrying about the weather. As long as you are going to waste a "hope" you might as well hope for ideal weather. I think 40 degree start and 65 finish are pretty close to perfect, particularly if you add in calm winds and overcast. I see my St Jude's Memphis average temp are close to that for my marathon there. It does take a few marathons before you can even think about not worrying about the weather and just plan for all possibilities. There have been several Richmond marathons (and others) that race day weather has not even been close to the forcast even the night before.

Thats true. I ran in 2006 and it was 59 or so at the start and was 72 ,73 by the time it ended, also humid.

Being in charge of a water stop I can handles most types of weather except wind. Nothing like trying to fill 5000 cups when you can't keep them on the table.

That definitely sounds like a challenging game. How many cups can I fill before they blow off tha table

Hopefully the pattern of unusually warm weather (usually with rain) on Saturday will be broken. It seems like it has been that way every weekend since the beginning of October except for maybe one Saturday. Last year when I ran the half I recall temps in the mid to upper 60s at the beginning and it just got warmer from there. It was ugly! Hopefully we will have an average day with a low near 40.

Yeah it was definitely too warm last year. I ran the half and was fine, but I saw quite a few struggling with the heat. And I heard there were a lot of people who had trouble in the marathon.

Give me a nice 55-degree starting temp (low humidity) and I'll be happy. I'll even be fine if it's raining a bit... that seems inevitable lately with the marathon and Monument Ave races.

We have had a pattern going with Saturday mornings the last two months. They will call for rain on some Saturdays mornings.. but it never did . With the acception of last Saturday .. Last Saturday was perfect for me. I love a little rain.
